IT Data Governance Analyst 2

Data Governance Analyst role supporting enterprise data governance initiatives. Onsite presence required 4 days per week. Position Summary: We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst who will report to the Data Curation Lead within a Data Governance team. This role involves metadata curation, building end-to-end data lineage, maintaining business glossaries, and defining data quality rules. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and administer business glossary and data catalog
• Support implementation and usage of metadata and data modeling tools
• Develop and maintain end-to-end data lineage diagrams
• Contribute to data model creation and maintenance
• Define and implement data quality rules and validation checks

Technical Responsibilities: Business Glossary / Data Catalog:

• Maintain data catalog and associated business metadata
• Support development of data taxonomy, dictionary, and glossary
• Assist in onboarding data sources

Metadata Management:

• Identify critical data elements and capture metadata
• Maintain metadata artifacts and resolve inconsistencies
• Develop and maintain data lineage diagrams
• Conduct metadata and data quality audits
• Document classification and sensitivity standards

Data Quality:

• Define and implement data quality rules, thresholds, and validations

Other Responsibilities:

• Use Power Platform for automation
• Track tasks using tools like JIRA
• Monitor progress, risks, and mitigation plans

• 3 5 years of hands-on data governance experience including:

• Metadata management

• Data lineage development

• Business glossary management

• Data quality rules implementation

• Experience with data catalog tools (e.g., Purview, Informatica, Alation, Collibra)

• Strong SQL and data systems understanding

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK)

Desired Experience:

• Azure/Data certifications
• Experience in big data or data security environments
• Familiarity with data quality tools (e.g., Collibra DQ, Informatica Data Quality)
• Experience with Power Platform

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Data governance expertise (metadata, lineage, glossary, data quality) 5 years
• Ability to mentor data stewards 5 years
• Strong communication and organizational skills 5 years
• Experience with governance tools (Purview, Informatica, Alation, Collibra) 2+ years
• Knowledge of governance frameworks and best practices 2+ years
