Job description
The Web Designer is a critical member of the Optometry Marketing Services team and is responsible for building and optimizing high-performing websites and digital assets that support measurable booking growth and retail performance for independent optometry practices., Front-End Development (40%)
- Build and optimize WordPress websites and landing pages designed to support appointment bookings and retail performance.
- Utilize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create high-performing, mobile-first user experiences.
- Develop and maintain scalable template systems that support standardized campaign delivery.
- Implement SEO best practices and ensure technical optimization across all builds.
- Implement and support tracking infrastructure including GA4, conversion events, UTM structures, and pixel integrations.
- Support landing page builds aligned to paid media campaigns including Google Ads and Meta.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization across devices.
Design & Conversion Optimization (60%)
- Design WordPress websites using Divi and other frameworks, ensuring alignment with client branding while prioritizing user experience and conversion performance.
- Build modular design systems that allow for repeatable, efficient asset production across multiple practices.
- Translate strategic recommendations into structured activation messaging within predefined campaign templates.
- Optimize booking flows, call-to-action placement, and page structure using performance data and best practices.
- Continuously improve user experience and site structure to increase measurable outcomes.
- Select and implement visual assets that support revenue-driving service lines including clinical services, retail, contact lenses, and specialty offerings.
- Make updates to client websites while maintaining template integrity, quality, and delivery efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive web development and web design experience preferred, ideally within a performance-driven marketing environment.
- Strong proficiency in WordPress CMS and page builders such as Divi.
- Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated experience building conversion-focused landing pages.
- Working knowledge of GA4, conversion tracking, and digital performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, structured data, and evolving search technologies.
- Experience supporting paid media landing environments preferred.
- Ability to build scalable template systems rather than one-off custom sites.
- Strong visual design skills combined with a data-informed mindset.
- High attention to detail and strong ownership of output quality.
- Clear communicator who collaborates effectively within a cross-functional marketing team.
