Job description

Prequel is seeking an IT Field Support Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established organization in the Canton, Ohio area. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands-on technical support, working directly with end users, and being out in the field supporting multiple locations. This position supports a regional branch network across Northeast Ohio, with occasional backup support in the Columbus region. What You'll Do

  • Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, network hardware, and business applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for branch and office end users
  • Support installation, setup, and replacement of devices across multiple locations
  • Assist with rollouts of new or upgraded hardware and software
  • Partner with internal IT team members on troubleshooting, projects, and process improvements
  • Complete departmental documentation and support-related paperwork
  • Participate in project-based work involving equipment upgrades and implementations
  • Provide cross-training and support to team members as needed
  • Participate in an off-hours on-call rotation and occasional after-hours project support, * Onsite role based in the Canton, OH area
  • Supports multiple branches throughout the region
  • Reimbursable local travel required
  • Occasional travel may be needed for training, special projects, and business continuity support

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and end-user technology issues
  • Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 / 2022
  • Basic network troubleshooting experience, including DHCP and basic network configuration
  • Ability to work independently and manage support needs across multiple branch locations
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally as needed

Preferred Background

  • 1-3 years of IT support, desktop support, field support, or technical support experience
  • Experience supporting users in a multi-site environment
  • Comfortable with a mix of day-to-day support, device installations, and project-based work
