This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the critical Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform across both production and non-production environments, as well as supporting underlying virtualization infrastructure. The Systems Engineer plays a key role in translating business requirements and technical specifications into well-designed, tested, and implemented solutions. Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with the ERP vendor to ensure consistent system performance, as well as the timely reporting, escalation, and resolution of user-reported issues. This role is dependent on real-time teamwork, in-person mentoring and in-person collaboration to problem-solve and provide customer service in real time. The engineer will leverage a variety of Infor tools and VMware (or like) technologies to design and implement system enhancements, infrastructure improvements, and new components. This position is also responsible for evaluating, selecting, and utilizing appropriate development and infrastructure tools to ensure reliable, scalable system performance.
Position will require on-call for after-hours emergencies., Key responsibilities include full lifecycle support-analysis, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance-of Infor ERP systems and supporting infrastructure. The role involves close collaboration with Luma Functional Teams, infrastructure teams, and other developers to identify and implement efficient, cost-effective solutions.
Essential Job Functions:

Provide development and maintenance of the SCO Infor Enterprise Resource Platform.

Assess architectural options and recommend appropriate solutions.

Support and maintain ERP systems including installation, configuration, and system health monitoring.

Administer and support VMware vSphere environments (ESXi hosts, vCenter Server), or like technologies.

Provision and manage virtual machines, templates, and snapshots.

Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across application and infrastructure layers.

Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of ERP and virtual components.

Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, networking, and storage issues.

Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate support activities.

Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents and service tickets.

Communicate effectively with users and stakeholders.
-
In-person (and in-office) collaboration with team members to problem solve and provide customer service in real time is essential to this position.

Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance (critical to this position).

Requirements

Experience identifying and resolving complex system-related problems involving applications, infrastructure, and vendors.

Experience working independently to determine and resolve technical issues.

Knowledge of system architecture, design and virtualization technologies.

Foundational knowledge of VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and/or like virtualization concepts and platforms (ie - HPE Morpheus Enterprise Cloud Management platform.)

Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs) and storage (SAN/NAS).

Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.

Experience creating and interpreting technical documentation and requirements.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.

Experience with VMware tools (vMotion, HA, DRS).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Experience with monitoring and performance tools.
