Job description
As a Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored specifically for each customer. We seek a team member who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused. In this role, you will tackle increasingly complex problems and assist in the training and development of less experienced Field Engineers., * Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
- Serve as the local contact for technical issues and lead in the field.
- Offer effective solutions for increasingly complex system issues.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects.
- Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
- Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.
- Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Requirements
- Proficiency in HVAC, computer, electrical, and technician skills.
- Experience with installation, commissioning, controls, building automation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of field service, electronics, and use of tools such as oscilloscopes.
- Experience with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree, Associate Degree, or Technical/Business School Certificate in HVAC, Controls, or related field preferred.
- Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL.
- Ability to navigate and integrate into various building automation systems.
- Experience interacting with a diverse number of simultaneous challenges across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Benefits & conditions
This position covers the Richmond territory. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and using lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs. There are no on-call shifts in the install group, and typical hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The work environment offers growth opportunities, especially within software engineering, with potential advancement to the Design engineering team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glen Allen, VA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.00/hr.
