Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Systems Specialist to join our team. This role involves the setup, commissioning, and re-commissioning of customer systems utilizing DDC technology. The ideal candidate will provide solutions to mid-level systems problems and work closely with subcontractors and other trades to ensure optimal operation., * Provide turnkey project delivery on small projects with a budget of 80 or fewer hours.
- Work with unitary systems such as VAV, FPB, FCU, small AHUs, and basic CW/HW systems.
- Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Submit timely paperwork, including time sheets, expense reports, and project status reports.
- Ensure total system operation from controllers to sensors, including loading software, setting up trends, alarms, and reports, and collaborating with customer IT personnel.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals, and laptops.
- Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming.
- Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.
- Set up operator workstations with all associated software.
- Perform daily job database backups or as advised.
- Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, tracking and recording job progress.
- Maintain a daily log of job-related activities.
- Adhere to safety standards, ensuring a high degree of safety for employees and subcontractors.
- Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices.
- Have a strong understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.
- Field experience and understanding of Automated Logic Controls and third-party control systems.
- Proficiency with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, and others.
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous challenges across different disciplines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with troubleshooting, electrical, and field controls.
- Knowledge of building automation, HVAC systems, and networking (TCP/IP).
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment like oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with Siemens, Trane, and Honeywell systems.
Work Environment
The position covers the NY and NJ territory, with responsibilities including traveling to job sites directly from home. Employees will be reimbursed for travel expenses such as tolls and mileage up to 56 miles per day. There is no daily requirement to report to Clifton, and commuting to NYC is not considered work time. The role does not involve on-call shifts, and typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and lifting items up to 50 lbs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
