Job description
Engineering Partners, Inc. is seeking a proactive and solutions-driven IT & Systems Manager to oversee and manage the firm's technology infrastructure, systems, and IT operations. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology systems that support daily operations across all office locations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly responsive, and capable of managing both day-to-day IT needs and longer-term system planning, while maintaining cost-effective solutions appropriate for a small, growing engineering firm., * IT Operations & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal IT support needs across offices
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
- Manage onboarding/offboarding of employees (devices, access, permissions)
- Maintain IT helpdesk tracking and response times
- Systems & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee servers, network systems, cloud environments, and backups
- Maintain and manage firmwide software applications and specialized AEC industry software, ensuring proper licensing, updates, and functionality
- Ensure system uptime, performance, and reliability across all locations
- Coordinate and execute system upgrades, patches, and maintenance
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices (MFA, endpoint protection, firewalls, etc.)
- Support compliance efforts, including CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 requirements
- Lead and maintain documentation, policies, and controls required for CMMC Level 1, with progression toward Level 2 readiness
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents
- Maintain documentation of IT policies, procedures, and system configurations
- Vendor & Asset Management
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective technology solutions
- Track and maintain inventory of IT equipment and licenses
- Review IT-related invoices and manage budgets
- Strategic Planning & Improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology
- Develop and maintain an IT roadmap aligned with company growth
- Recommend and implement new systems or tools to support operations
- Support integration of new offices, systems, or technologies
Requirements
Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional IT experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment
- Strong knowledge of: Microsoft Office Programs / Cloud-based systems; Network infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs; Server management and backups
- Cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST or similar) preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to support non-technical staff
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting multi-office environments
- Familiarity with engineering or AEC industry software and workflows
- Experience with CMMC Level 1 required; familiarity with or progression toward CMMC Level 2
- Experience transitioning from outsourced IT to in-house operations

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
