Job description
Assist staff and students to effectively incorporate the use of technology into instructional programs and curriculum. The specialist serves as the primary coordinator for surveillance systems, emergency alert technologies, and integrated building systems while assisting staff in the effective use of instructional technology to improve student outcomes and campus safety readiness. Provide district-wide leadership, management, and technical support for physical security systems, emergency communication infrastructure, and integrated campus safety technology. This position ensures reliability, compliance with state safety mandates, and continuity of critical systems while supporting instructional technology integration and staff training.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Be responsible for training, modeling, and assisting teachers in integrating technology in the classroom to improve student achievement.

Coordinate the management of instructional and non- instructional networks.

Acquire and update skills as necessary for effective instructional technology management. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain instructional hardware and software.

Train users in applications on the integration of technology into lesson planning.

Provide support and efficient data to campus level personnel.

Ensure efficient and effective access to information and related technology to all campus and administrative departments.

Responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the Information Technology systems for the middle school campus.
Requirements
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university required
- Valid Texas teaching Certificate
- Masters in Instructional Technology preferred, but not required
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of instructional software applications

Ability to compile and produce data reports from instructional vendors for data-driven decisions

Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners

Knowledge of curriculum and technology used in instructional setting

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritize student and staff needs

Ability to troubleshoot

Ability to maintain composure under pressure

Experience:
-
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience

Must have experience in the support of instructional software applications or working with instructional software in an educational environment.

Must have experience working with and demonstrating the use of instructional and assessment technology, reports, and data.

Must have experience in data meetings.

Must have experience with national, state and benchmarking assessment platforms.

Experience installing or supporting technology hardware, building systems, or instructional technology platforms

Experience working with configuration, installation, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems is preferred
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and climbing
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts and elevated surfaces
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to use hand and power tools in the above conditions
