Job description

Duties Description Under the direction of the Director of Shared Platform Services within Chief Technology Office, the Manager Information Technology Services 2, SG-29 will be responsible for the Shared Services Microsegmentation and Automation Platform products and will manage individuals who support them.

Specific duties shall include but are not limited to:

Project & Strategic Management:

  • Defines purpose, scope, and objectives of short-term and long-range projects.

  • Confers with executive managers, high-level managers, architects, and staff to support and deliver on-going projects, initiatives, and changes.

  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and innovations for use in planning with CTO architects and staff development activities.

  • Directs system upgrades, integrations, and vendor relationships to ensure reliable and secure technology operations. Technical Environment Management & Policy:

  • Maintains the Microsegmentation (Illumio and Stealth) environment (systems, infrastructure, and design) to provide network micro-segmentation to NYS systems.

  • Responsible for the creation and management of microsegmentation policies for NYS systems.

  • Maintains the Automation Platform (Ansible currently) systems, infrastructure, and design to make available the orchestration of tasks on NYS systems to customers.

  • Confirms that all architecture and system documentation is complete and current. Operational Oversight & Compliance:

  • Ensures compliance with ITS service level agreements (SLAs), security protocols, and change management procedures.

  • Coordinates closely with ITS enterprise support teams (infrastructure, networking, hosting, cyber security, and procurement) to maintain operational stability. Leadership & Administration:

  • Oversees the development of procedures, standards, and internal controls for the conduct of work within this unit.

  • Performs the full range of management and supervisory duties.

  • Assists the Director in the preparation of the unit's annual budget and spending plan.

Requirements

Communication Skills:

  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make effective presentations to Executives.

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent service as Manager Information Technology Services 1 or Manager Information Technology Services 1 with any parenthetic.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay. to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.
