Job description
We are looking for a talented Magento Developer to join our in-house team in Nashville on a project-based basis. You will work directly on our existing live e-commerce websites, helping us keep them running smoothly, secure, and modern. This is a hands-on role focused on maintenance, enhancements, and visual refreshes - no greenfield builds, just real-world improvements to production sites.
What You'll Do
- Bug Fixing & Maintenance - Quickly diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across our Magento e-commerce platforms.
- Security Management - Perform regular security audits, apply patches, harden the sites, and ensure ongoing compliance with best practices.
- Custom Development - Build and integrate custom functionalities, third-party API connections, payment gateways, shipping solutions, and other e-commerce integrations as needed.
- Visual & UI Refresh - Update and modernize the look, feel, and user experience of our websites using Magento themes, custom templates, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design improvements.
- Collaborate closely with our internal team on project scoping, timelines, and deliverables while working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Magento 2 in a production e-commerce environment.
- Strong proficiency in PHP 7/8, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Magento's architecture (modules, themes, observers, plugins, etc.).
- Experience building custom Magento extensions, integrating third-party services, and working with REST/SOAP APIs.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce best practices, performance optimization, and security standards (PCI, GDPR, etc.).
- Frontend skills to refresh site visuals - experience with Magento's Luma theme, custom theme development, or modern frontend frameworks is a big plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Nashville and manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
