Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior / Lead Software Engineer (Next.js) to support high-priority digital initiatives within our Digital Engineering organization. This role reports into the Director leading Digital Engineering, Platform & Performance Engineering, and DevOps and is designed for a technically elite, hands-on engineer who can independently deliver complex projects while also accelerating team execution. What You'll Do

• Independently lead delivery of complex frontend and full-stack initiatives using Next.js and TypeScript-from design through production.
• Architect, build, and optimize high-performance, customer-facing web applications at scale.
• Partner closely with backend, platform, and DevOps teams to design clean integrations and resilient systems.
• Identify gaps, propose improvements, and proactively unblock delivery without waiting for direction.
• Perform high-quality code reviews, influence technical decisions, and raise overall engineering standards.
• Help multiple workstreams progress in parallel by providing technical guidance, patterns, and execution support.

• 8-12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a clear track record of owning and delivering complex systems.
• Deep, hands-on production experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Strong backend fluency with Python and/or Node.js, and comfort working across full-stack architectures.
• Proven ability to work independently-from ambiguity to execution-with minimal oversight.
• Strong experience with modern frontend performance, SSR/SSG, SEO, and scalable UI architecture.
• Experience building retail, e-commerce, or large-scale customer-facing platforms.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native environments (AWS or Google Cloud Platform) and how frontend systems operate in production.
• A high personal bar for engineering quality, coupled with the ability to help others deliver better and faster.
