Network Migration Technician

Our client is seeking a Network Migration Technician to assist in reliable migrations of small to medium office networks from one firewall solution to another. This role will be responsible for coordinating with offices to schedule migrations, working to provide technical information of current setups, and assisting with advice and troubleshooting of new network setups, tracked and reported as part of a greater project., * Coordinate with our customer offices to schedule migration of current Check Point firewall solutions to new solutions provided by the office.

• Review current office and device configurations and provide that information to responsible parties.
• Work closely with the migrating offices to provide networking advice on the set up and transition to their new solution.
• Follow up with offices as needed to ensure the migration occurs in a timely manner.
• Ensure decommissioned devices are properly disposed of using established processes.
• Work closely with other responsible team to provide information as needed.
• Report ongoing results to project management and enter updates in all project tracking systems.
• Be available to assist with networking related issues as needed during and after migrations.
• Field general technology requests from customer offices and shepherd to correct support teams.

• 5+ years of experience with a variety of networking and firewall vendors (Check Point, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc…)
• Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Ability to clearly communicate with customers in a professional manner.
• Task and project tracking experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues while making sensible decisions in times of stress.
