Power BI Data Modeler

Our client, a global life sciences organization, is undertaking the development and optimization of a semantic data model to support a Service Contract solution. This initiative is focused on enabling accurate, scalable reporting aligned with service-based revenue recognition. The engagement will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, performance, and usability across reporting and analytics functions., * Design, enhance, and maintain complex Power BI semantic models including datasets and tabular model

• Translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing data models supporting reporting and analytics
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align data structures with service contract and revenue recognition requirements
• Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculations, and overall model performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data accuracy, performance, and usability
• Integrate multiple data sources into a unified and cohesive reporting model
• Ensure data models are structured for scalability and future reporting needs
• Document model design, assumptions, and logic for both technical and business audiences

• Expert-level experience with Power BI, specifically semantic modeling and dataset design
• Strong experience building and optimizing complex data models including star schema design and performance tuning
• Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power BI data architecture
• Experience working with large, multi-source datasets in enterprise environments
• Exposure to financial data and reporting, ideally including revenue recognition concepts
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical data models
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with IT and Finance stakeholders
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, This role may involve working with systems and data that incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. Candidates should be comfortable operating in environments where AI-assisted tools and analytics are leveraged to support business outcomes.
