Job description
SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Systems Administrator - RHEL for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) The Candidate will support and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across a complex environment. This role will focus on operational support, incident resolution, and automation while contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvements., * Perform system monitoring, health checks, and review alerts, dashboards, and batch processing
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, outages, and performance issues
- Manage and prioritize support tickets and internal customer requests
- Execute system maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and configurations
- Support vulnerability remediation and security-related initiatives
- Participate in on-call rotation and assist with after-hours or weekend support as needed
Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in server administration or infrastructure support
- Strong experience supporting enterprise Linux environments, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Perl, or YAML
- Experience with system monitoring, alerting, and maintaining high availability environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within production systems
- Experience working with ticketing systems and managing incident queues
- Ability to perform system maintenance, including patching and upgrades
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred Skills / Experience of the Systems Administrator - RHEL:
- Exposure to AIX or Solaris environments (not the primary focus)
- Experience with vulnerability management and remediation efforts
- Background in security and compliance within enterprise systems
- Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure and monitoring tools
