Job description

Kforce has a client in Fairfield, IA that is seeking a Contract Senior Product/UI Designer (Design Systems & AI)., We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Product Designer to support a defined, project-based engagement focused on enterprise product design, design system evolution, and AI-enabled experiences. This is a hands-on role for a senior individual contributor who can quickly plug into a complex environment and deliver high-quality design outcomes.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and key stakeholders to design scalable, intuitive experiences across multiple products. Experience designing for-or alongside-AI-powered workflows is highly desirable.

Duties Include:

  • Design and deliver high-quality UI and UX solutions for complex, enterprise-scale workflows
  • Contribute to and extend an enterprise design system (components, patterns, tokens, documentation) within project scope
  • Ensure designs are scalable, accessible, and consistent across products and platforms
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to align design solutions with product and technical requirements
  • Design and prototype concepts from early exploration through high-fidelity, implementation-ready designs
  • Apply UX best practices to AI-driven features, automation, or data-informed experiences
  • Participate in focused research, usability testing, and iteration as needed
  • Clearly communicate design rationale and document decisions for cross-functional alignment
  • Heavy travel - multiple weeks a month; Travel and accommodations while traveling will be covered

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product, UX, or UI design with a strong portfolio of shipped, complex products
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or working within enterprise-scale design systems
  • Strong foundation in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design
  • Experience working cross-functionally in technical, multi-product environments
  • Hands-on exposure to AI-enabled products or workflows (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and design tokens
  • Working knowledge of accessibility and WCAG-compliant design
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within a defined scope
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
