Job description

As Director of Data Center Operations, you will lead Fluidstack's global data center operations, overseeing all data center critical infrastructure, IT equipment, and various assets within our data centers worldwide.

You will lead and scale a large global organization, setting strategic direction, speeding up deployment, optimizing data center utilization while maximizing performance and reliability. This also includes managing DC expansions, migrations and consolidations, critical maintenance, defining operational processes and ensuring each facility and function is maintained in accordance with company standards and best practices.

You will ensure standards are the highest in the industry, following company change control policies, minimizing unexpected customer downtime, overseeing all critical incidents, problems and changes inside the data hall, and inspiring a constant drive for process improvement. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed. Focus

  • Drive strategic planning and prioritization for data center operations teams.
  • Create a high performing leadership team, who can in turn drive the strategic direction through actionable deliverables
  • Create KPIs, SLAs, and other metrics (incl. operation efficiency, utilization, availability, and budget), and establish processes to improve them.
  • Coordinate with data center design, construction and commissioning teams to ensure engineering consistency and quality of the data centers.
  • Drive a customer centric approach while ensuring scalability and standardization in operations across all data centers globally
  • Establish critical business continuity plans, including design and implementation of disaster drills, overseeing incident management and timely RCA.
  • Establish and track security and compliance measures to ensure security of frontline resources.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data center operations management with at least 5 years in senior leadership rolesProven track record of managing large-scale data center facilities and leading teams through periods of rapid growth, optimizing a growing and evolving business
  • Proven experience of developing high performing teams and a people first culture
  • Focus on execution and results - establishing high standards for performance, setting goals and developing plans, following through and holding people accountable for results
  • Ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision and influence
  • Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals
  • Financial acumen and ability to connect operational objectives to financial results

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with GPU clusters and high-performance computing environments
  • Background in hyperscale or cloud service provider environments, managing multiple >100MW facilities

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
