Job description
Seeking a hands-on Cloud Data Engineer to support a fast-paced data and analytics environment. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing cloud data platforms, and ensuring reliability, performance, and security across the data ecosystem.
This is a 4 6 month contract working directly with the client s data team.
Work Schedule (Important)
- Fully remote
- Must be available for meetings 4:00 PM Midnight (ET), Sunday Thursday
- No meetings on Friday or Saturday, * Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR)
- Develop and optimize data models and warehouses in Snowflake
- Build and manage ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance
- Support reporting and analytics by delivering clean, usable datasets
- Integrate BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) with data platforms
- Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines for performance and scalability
- Automate workflows and infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Apply best practices for security, cost optimization, and performance tuning
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services
- Direct experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning)
- Solid SQL skills and proficiency in Python (or similar)
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices, * Hands-on, problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to move quickly and troubleshoot issues independently
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and business teams
- Comfortable working with globally distributed teams
