Cloud Data Engineer

Seeking a hands-on Cloud Data Engineer to support a fast-paced data and analytics environment. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing cloud data platforms, and ensuring reliability, performance, and security across the data ecosystem.

This is a 4 6 month contract working directly with the client s data team.

Work Schedule (Important)

• Fully remote
• Must be available for meetings 4:00 PM Midnight (ET), Sunday Thursday
• No meetings on Friday or Saturday, * Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR)
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouses in Snowflake
• Build and manage ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance
• Support reporting and analytics by delivering clean, usable datasets
• Integrate BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) with data platforms
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines for performance and scalability
• Automate workflows and infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Apply best practices for security, cost optimization, and performance tuning

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services
• Direct experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning)
• Solid SQL skills and proficiency in Python (or similar)
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices, * Hands-on, problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to move quickly and troubleshoot issues independently
• Strong collaboration skills across technical and business teams
• Comfortable working with globally distributed teams
