Job description

This role supports county maintenance operations through purchasing, inventory management, and materials coordination. It oversees 813/822 procurement activities, maintains SAP materials functions, supports environmental compliance, and assists with budgeting and operational analysis. The position ensures the availability of equipment, supplies, and resources while providing backup support across maintenance and stockroom functions.

Key Duties

  • Manages 813/822 purchases, rented-equipment bids, vendor coordination, and RFQ processes.

  • Oversees materials functions in SAP Plant Maintenance/SRM, including purchasing, receiving, and issuing parts and supplies.

  • Coordinates scrap metal, waste oil, and hazmat removal and supports SEMP environmental objectives.

  • Conducts monthly inventory at county stockpiles and maintains winter-services material tracking.

  • Assists with budget monitoring, expenditure reporting, and cost/material usage research.

  • Provides backup support to Stock Clerk and RPT2 and prepares items for surplus or transfer.

WORK BEHAVIOR 1 - DATA COLLECTIONCollects data using the Pennsylvania CRASH database system (which includes crash investigation data for highway safety needs) to determine the locations of accidents involving damage to state property and assists counties in any corrective action needed. Monitors the Road Condition Reporting System (RCRS) (which includes traffic incidents, roadwork, winter road conditions, etc.) to collect real-time accident data and ensure accident sites are repaired within cost estimations.Levels of Performance

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training., Do you possess one or more years of full-time experience in the analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment?, How much full-time paraprofessional or technical level experience do you possess in business, information technology, engineering or a closely related field?
