REMOTE Sr. PHP Laravel Engineer

A client is seeking a Remote PHP Laravel Engineer to join their team in a full-time, direct-hire role with an early-stage startup. This position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work with a small, close-knit team of fewer than 10 employees as the company continues to scale.

In this role, you will help take the organization's application to the next level by contributing to architecture, scalability, and feature development. The ideal candidate has experience building or supporting sales-focused products and is familiar with sales terminology and sales cycles. Experience working with Sales CRMs and third-party integrations is highly beneficial.

This role requires a strong software engineering foundation, including experience designing and building scalable application architecture, database objects, and stored procedures. You should be comfortable creating and maintaining third-party integrations via APIs and webhooks, and able to clearly explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and optimization strategies while remaining flexible as requirements evolve.

The position will be split approximately 50/50 between frontend development using Next.js and backend development using PHP Laravel. You will also work directly with MySQL databases and operate within a Linux environment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as you'll be working closely with a small team in a fast-moving startup environment., 5+ years of experience developing in PHP and Laravel and experience designing applications and systems

AI experience using in development - experience writing software to improve quality of AI output

2+ years of experience working with sales software or products - understanding of sales cycles and writing styles strongly preferred: experience with CRM integrations with Sales tools

4+ years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or other RDBMS systems - experience designing and optimizing database tables, stored procedures, and indexing

4+ years of experience with Next.JS

Experience with APIs, connecting to third party APIs, building integrations with enterprise applications

Experience working in a Linux environment, Apache, Nginx servers, virtual machines

Experience in application support, production troubleshooting, and incident handling

Github and Jira experience

Experience working for a start up or ability to work independently and present options to CTO for quick decision making. Python Experience
