Job description
Support the Research and Development (R&D) team in developing, validating, integrating, and successfully launching electrical components and systems to meet new product development and business customer requirements. This role involves designing and laying out electrical wiring for specialty trucks and vans, such as those used in the shipping industry., * Confer with engineers, customers, suppliers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Design, implement, maintain, test, and improve electrical wiring of vehicles.
- Operate CAD software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Solve problems and troubleshoot electrical components and systems.
- Assist in building a prototype of the intended vehicle for testing and approval., Join a small R&D team located in an office building in Wolcottville, IN, focusing on creating and advancing manufacturing processes. Although manufacturing is conducted at facilities in Sturgis, MI, this site includes several small buildings for onsite testing. Typical working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an average workload of 40-45 hours per week.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Knowledge in electrical engineering and electrical design.
- 3-5 years of experience in vehicle design (e.g., truck, van, bus, RV, auto, boat).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a two-year technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of practical and relevant experience.
- Proven ability to use 3D CAD, with a preference for SolidWorks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in electrical design and problem-solving.
- Ability to work creatively and be involved in the design and product development process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wolcottville, IN. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $45.00/hr.
