Job description

  • Design and own the end-to-end employee onboarding and offboarding process. Right now it's too manual- you'll fix that, building repeatable, automated workflows so that a new hire is fully provisioned on Day 1 and a departure is fully deprovisioned within hours.
  • Own identity and access management across our SaaS stack - Okta, SSO, SCIM integrations, and access governance. You'll be the authoritative owner of who has access to what.
  • Own our MDM stack, enforce endpoint policies, and manage hardware procurement and lifecycle.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for our IT vendors and security partners. You'll manage the relationship, prioritize their work, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Partner with engineering and our security team on compliance reviews, evidence collection, and audit prep. You won't own the security program, but you'll be a key operator within it.
  • Own IT escalations that can't be self-served, and build out tooling and runbooks so the team can self-serve more over time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in IT operations or corporate engineering, ideally at a startup or fintech.
  • Has built or rebuilt an onboarding/offboarding workflow from scratch - not just inherited one.
  • Deep Okta experience - SSO, SCIM provisioning, lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with MDM tooling such as Jamf, Kandji, or Mosyle.
  • Has managed an MSP or IT vendor relationship.
  • Working knowledge of compliance obligations in a regulated environment - you don't need to be a compliance expert, but you can't be starting from zero.
  • Comfortable being on a small IT team - you're an owner, not a ticket-closer.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a card issuer, payments company, or other regulated fintech.
  • Familiarity with modern tools: Linear, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace.

Why Cardless

You'll have real ownership from day one. You'll work closely with the Head of Engineering and have direct visibility into the company's security and compliance posture.

About the company

At Cardless, we're building a credit card and loyalty platform that consumer businesses use to engage their customers. We power programs for names like Coinbase, Bilt, Qatar Airways, and Alibaba - real products, real cardholders, real transaction volume. And we're growing fast. We're looking for an IT Ops Engineer to own the internal technology that powers how we work. This is a foundational hire: you'll take ownership of IT operations as we scale - building the systems and workflows that let us onboard and offboard seamlessly, and setting the foundation for how Cardless operates as the team grows.
