Job description
- Serve as a technical data lead on product teams leveraging automation and AI/ML technologies to solve real-world government challenges.
- Lead the design of data architectures for enterprise-scale solutions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and client teams to define requirements, identify gaps, and craft differentiated data solutions.
- Research and apply emerging technologies in AI/ML, data analytics, cloud, cybersecurity, agile development, DevSecOps, and digital engineering.
- Contribute to the development of technical concepts for written proposal content (RFIs, RFPs, white papers, etc.) and deliver technical presentations to clients and partners.
- Provide technical thought leadership to customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with SMEs and product teams to define architecture, implementation approaches, and operational concepts for federal solution programs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field. (PhD Preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years supporting solutioning for federal programs.
- Strong technical writing capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with:
- AI/ML and Automation platforms and tools (e.g., C3.ai, Palantir, UiPath)
- Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI
- Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Data lake and analytics technologies (e.g., Databricks)
- Familiarity with agile software development, systems and digital engineering, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity.
- Proven ability to guide cross-functional and technical teams in designing and implementing innovative, scalable solutions.
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to translate mission needs into technical data strategies.
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
- Candidates local to the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area preferred.
- Location & Travel: Candidates located in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area will be expected to travel approximately 5% of the time. Non-local candidates must be willing and able to travel up to 20% for key meetings, team events, or client engagements

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $103,307.00 - $178,090.00
