Job description

Lead the discovery efforts, translating complex investment management processes into detailed functional requirements and solution proposals.

  • Act as a technical inspiring leader by defining end-to-end data pipeline requirements, covering all phases of data management, including Data Integration, Data Quality, Data Ingestion, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Data Security, Business Intelligence, and Data Analysis.
  • Build positive relationships with both internal and external collaborators such as Data Stewards, Product Managers, Scrum Managers, Developers, and other data consumers of Investments and Operations data.
  • Work closely with business partners to understand their objectives and the company's technical direction. Develop a technology strategy that supports these goals and ensures successful application implementation.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new applications or improvements to existing ones, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting business requirements.
  • Collaborate with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Contribute to resource planning for analysis workstreams and functional technology needs by bringing to bear deep subject matter expertise across investment management domains. Also, maintain a broad understanding of how upstream and downstream systems interact.
  • Support integration initiatives involving APIs, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Guide analysts and cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, including requirements, refinement, planning, UAT, and the debut.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level business analysts, offering support on analysis techniques, documentation quality, and customer engagement.
  • Provide informal leadership on project teams, helping define guidelines for analysis and workflow build.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, templates, and methodology for business analysis across the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years or Master's degree with 3+ years' experience in CS, Information Technology, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within asset management, wealth management, banking, or financial services.
  • Proficient/advanced experience with relational database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and proficiency in querying for data extraction, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient/advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling, and analysis for large datasets.
  • Proficient/advanced knowledge of Autosys and GAW as well as Jira and Confluence.
  • Proven ability to define complex business requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats
  • Day-to-day contact with others (co-workers and/or public)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions., * More than 5 years of experience in the investment management industry.
  • Over 5 years of experience working with SQL.
  • More than 2 years of experience working with Snowflake.
  • Over 2 years of experience with AWS Cloud or another cloud platform.
  • 3+ years of strong experience in crafting and delivering solutions using SQL and Python.
  • Experience with Aurora/PostgreSQL, Python, data-analysis tools, or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Prior experience in modernizing data pipelines from on-prem to cloud is highly desirable.
  • Any exposure to Data Management frameworks such as DMBOK is a huge plus.
  • Informatica and Snowflake experience is a bonus.

Benefits & conditions

Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
