Define and evolve the technical vision and roadmap for platform operations
Establish platform standards, design patterns, and reference architectures
Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and integration challenges early
Act as the architectural liaison across Platform Ops, EA, COEs, automation, and infrastructure teams
Influence platform priorities based on enterprise and application needs
Provide architectural guidance to downstream teams to accelerate delivery
Support scalable, secure platforms that enable automation and cloud growth
Participate in governance forums, roadmap planning, and leadership communications, Insight Global is seeking a Platform Operations Infrastructure Architect for a top enterprise infrastructure client. This individual will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for defining platform strategy, architecture standards, and long-term roadmaps across virtualization, Kubernetes, automation, and infrastructure-as-code platforms. The role is highly cross-functional and advisory in nature, focusing on foresight, governance, and integration rather than hands-on implementation. The ideal candidate is opinionated, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity while influencing diverse technical teams and aligning platform decisions to enterprise-scale needs.
Requirements
Senior-level experience designing and operating enterprise infrastructure platforms
Strong hands-on and architectural experience with:
Terraform (design, scalability, enterprise adoption)
Kubernetes / OpenShift
Infrastructure automation (Ansible or similar)
Virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, cloud VM platforms)
Proven ability to define platform strategy, roadmaps, and standards
Experience integrating platforms across large, complex enterprise environments
Strong stakeholder communication and ability to influence without authority Experience working closely with Enterprise Architecture and Centers of Excellence
Background in platform governance and architectural review processes
Experience supporting secure platform design and system hardening
Utility, energy, or highly regulated enterprise environment experience
Prior advisory or enablement-focused architect roles (non-implementation)
