Will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within one of the functional areas of the organization identified in the Skills Discipline Matrix below.
Execute, test, and implement all components, equipment, and software within the functional area of the organization. Performs administrative work relating to projects and assignments.
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in networking focused on ROADM/DWDM.
- Understanding of SONET architecture.
- Understanding of active and passive ROADM architectures.
- Understanding of TDM, OTN, and Ethernet protocols.
- Must be able to multi-task effectively and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to adjust work schedule to support shifts of various lengths and start/stop times based on workload, & other duties as assigned.
- Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience provisioning transport or ethernet services of some type.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management and team members, and proficiency with the use of personal computers to include Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of fiber optic principles as it relates to MMF (multi-mode fiber) and SMF (single-mode fiber) media types.
- Optical Network Certification is desirable.
- Knowledge of NetCracker is also desirable.
- Work with minimum supervision, work with the Network Planning team to ensure transport capacity for future network growth.
- Experience in designing and implementing projects.
- Background in telcom infrastructure.
- Background in optical networking.

Salary Range: $64,050 - $80,115
