Job description
IT Systems Analyst II provides both technical and administrative support for programs and systems within the National Airspace System (NAS) environment. This role supports the planning, analysis, design, and implementation of data-driven and web-based solutions aligned with mission and business objectives.
The position serves as a key contributor in advising project teams and operational stakeholders to ensure that data solutions and system architectures meet evolving business needs and technical standards. Responsibilities include supporting systems security initiatives, contributing to software and application development efforts, and assisting in the execution of full lifecycle project activities.
In addition to technical execution, the role includes administrative support functions such as assisting in program and project planning, establishing objectives and requirements, supporting budget and schedule development, and participating in program reviews and stakeholder meetings. The position requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions within a federal aviation environment., Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. - Provide technical and administrative support for National Airspace System (NAS) programs and systems, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and operational requirements
- Support systems security initiatives by assisting in the implementation and maintenance of secure application and data environments
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to analyze business needs and help define data and system requirements
- Assist in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of software applications and system enhancements
- Develop and maintain web-based applications using technologies such as HTML5/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and JSON
- Support full stack development activities, including front-end user interface design and back-end database integration
- Apply object-oriented programming principles to support scalable and maintainable software solutions
- Contribute to client/server and cross-browser application development to ensure compatibility and performance across platforms
- Participate in program and project planning activities, including defining objectives, requirements, and deliverables
- Assist in the development and maintenance of program/project schedules, budgets, and technical documentation
- Support second-level engineering activities by contributing to standards development, system improvements, and technical evaluations
- Participate in program reviews, technical meetings, and stakeholder briefings, providing updates on assigned tasks and deliverables
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues related to applications and systems
- Maintain documentation related to system design, development processes, and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, organizational, and program-specific standards, policies, and procedures
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
- Foundational understanding of systems security principles and best practices
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and lifecycle processes
- Familiarity with web application development technologies, including HTML5/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and JSON
- Understanding of full stack development concepts and/or Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture
- Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
- Familiarity with client/server architecture and cross-browser development techniques
- Ability to support analysis, design, and implementation of technical initiatives and projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Organizational skills to support planning, scheduling, and documentation of program/project activities
- Ability to participate in program reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings, Bachelor's degree in technology, or related field of study and a minimum of two to four (2 - 4) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience., Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
Benefits & conditions
The estimated pay range for this role is $63K to $77K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
