Requirements

At TFS, we're building next-generation products that redefine mobility for millions of customers worldwide. We're looking for a Junior Engineer with a passion for backend and full-stack development who's eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real products used at scale.

This role is for someone early in their career who writes clean code, asks great questions, and wants to build solid engineering habits from day one. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who will help you level up - while you contribute meaningfully to the systems and services that power our customer experiences on AWS.

This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience (bootcamp, self-taught with portfolio, etc.)

  • Up to 2 years of software engineering experience (internships and academic projects count)
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one backend language - TypeScript (Node.js) or Python preferred
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs - how they work, how to build and consume them
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
  • Exposure to cloud services (AWS preferred) - even at a conceptual level (what Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB do)
  • Some experience writing tests - unit tests, integration tests, or just a habit of validating your code
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset - you're comfortable saying "I don't know" and then going to figure it out
  • Good communication skills - you can explain what you're working on and ask for help when you need it

Added bonus if you have

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, or S3
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture concepts
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform)
  • Exposure to containerized workloads (Docker, ECS)
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or type-safe API tooling (OpenAPI, tRPC)
  • Experience with observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio
  • AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate)
