Job description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated PeopleSoft Functional Consultant to lead the implementation of the General Ledger module for a federal government agency. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in the PeopleSoft GL module and possess a deep understanding of federal financial business processes and reporting requirements. This role requires exceptional functional expertise, a strong grasp of the full implementation lifecycle, and a commitment to ensuring all deliverables meet strict federal policies and standards., * Lead the full lifecycle implementation of the PeopleSoft GL module, from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment.
- Conduct comprehensive fit/gap analysis to align federal business needs with PeopleSoft GL functionality.
- Configure the PeopleSoft system to meet the client's needs, including setup tables, business units, and other module-specific configurations.
- Configure GL components including: Chart of Accounts, Ledgers and Ledger Groups, Journal processing, Journal edit and approval workflows, Open period updates, Allocation rules, Closing rules and calendar setup
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to financial accounting and reporting. Design and validate accounting structures to support multi-entity and intercompany accounting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Ensure proper configuration of interfaces with other PeopleSoft modules (AR/Billing, Cash Management, Project Costing) and external systems
- Develop detailed functional design documents (FDDs) and other project deliverables in accordance with project management methodologies.
- Collaborate with technical teams on data conversion, interfaces, and reports.
- Create and deliver training materials and sessions tailored to federal end-users to ensure seamless adoption.
- Develop and execute comprehensive functional, integration, and user acceptance test plans
- Support testing activities and address issues to ensure a smooth transition to the production environment.
- Ensure all project deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with federal regulations and policies.

Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information Technology and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a PeopleSoft Functional Consultant.
- Proven experience in at least two full-lifecycle PeopleSoft FSCM implementations for a federal government agency.
- Demonstrable expertise in implementing and configuring the PeopleSoft General Ledger module.
- Experience in all phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong knowledge of federal accounting principles and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 applications, including newer features such as Work Centers, Drop Zones, Page and Field Configurator, and similar capabilities.
- Proficiency in using PeopleSoft Query to analyze data and strong familiarity with functional tables and data flows within the GL module.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with other PeopleSoft Financials modules (e.g., Receivables, Billing, Cash Management, Project Costing).
- Prior experience working on projects for a federal agency or government contractor.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight compliance requirements.
- Occasional travel to customer sites as needed
