Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Specialist to support the architecture, development, integration, and test of next-generation defense systems. These systems include secure, high-availability (HA) cloud-based storage and orchestration solutions, advanced tactical and enterprise networking, edge computing devices, and mission system management capabilities. This role applies MBSE methodologies across the system lifecycle and serves as a technical bridge between system architecture, software and hardware development, integration, and verification. The position supports DoD programs and performs system integration testing and certification of custom software and hardware prior to customer delivery., Develop and maintain subsystem and segment specifications, including: Cybersecurity and cross-domain requirements Interface control requirements and documentation (ICDs) Verification and validation (V&V) matrices Test organization plans and requirements change documentation Perform system definition and functional decomposition using MBSE principles (e.g., SysML-based modeling). Develop and maintain system models representing components, behaviors, functions, activities, interfaces, and system interactions. Ensure end-to-end traceability from system requirements through architecture, integration, and test. Coordinate model updates across engineering, integration, and test teams. Support system integration, verification, validation, and certification activities for defense programs. Test, analyze, and troubleshoot complex integrated hardware and software systems in lab and system-level environments. Develop and execute test procedures using electronic test bench equipment. Review hardware and software design documentation to ensure testability, completeness, and suitability for first-of-kind and pre-production testing. Collaborate closely with system, software, hardware, integration, and test engineers to diagnose and resolve issues. Apply knowledge of linear (DC) and non-linear (AC) circuits to execute and troubleshoot test procedures. Debug hardware-related issues using machine-level concepts, including hexadecimal, binary, and instruction set interpretation. Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex electronic assemblies.

Requirements

Strong experience developing system requirements, specifications, and verification artifacts within an MBSE framework. C++, Linux is Required Model Based Systems Engineering is required Demonstrated experience with system architecture modeling, interface definition, and system behavior modeling. Solid understanding of system interfaces and MBSE concepts with a strong connection to Integration and Test (I&T). Experience testing and debugging complex, integrated defense systems involving custom hardware and software. Practical experience using electronic test bench equipment and reviewing test readiness of designs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in mission-critical environments. Working knowledge of DC and AC circuit analysis. Experience debugging hardware using low-level machine or instruction-set concepts., Basic programming experience in C++, Java, or Python. Familiarity with Linux command-line tools. Hands-on experience with electrical measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters. Experience with LabVIEW or other automated test and instrumentation tools. Exposure to defense standards, secure systems, or classified development environments., Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Associate's degree acceptable with demonstrated, applicable defense or systems engineering experience). Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation. Ability to work independently in a task-driven environment with minimal supervision. Willingness to work overtime and off-shift as required to meet program milestones. Experience working in an Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall defense development environment.
