Job description
Insight Global is looking for an IT Manager to support a manufacturing organization with complex operational and technology needs. This role leads a multi-disciplinary IT team responsible for supporting core infrastructure, applications, and manufacturing systems. The IT Manager partners with business and technical stakeholders to ensure IT services are reliable, scalable, and aligned with operational objectives.
Day-to-day activities focus on people leadership, operational oversight, and execution of IT initiatives, including improving system stability, strengthening governance and controls, and supporting ongoing technology evolution. The role requires balancing strategic priorities with hands-on leadership while operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

IT Leadership & Team Management: Lead, develop, and manage a team of ~15 IT professionals; set performance expectations and make tough personnel decisions as needed.

Infrastructure & IT/OT Architecture: Own and standardize IT/OT architecture including servers, switches, WiFi, and DRaaS with a focus on robustness and reliability.

Manufacturing Systems Oversight: Oversee a highly complex MES environment (primarily Solidat with some internally developed components).

ERP Leadership: Support ERP operations and play a key role in preparation and execution of the upcoming QAD ERP migration.

Audit & Compliance Ownership: Own IT audit readiness and execution for SOX, IT general controls, and TISAX with an "always audit-ready" mindset.

Project Execution: Lead multiple concurrent IT initiatives with a strong focus on follow-through, delivery, and accountability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted IT leader for senior management, group leads, and shop-floor personnel.

Emerging Technology Support: Provide leadership alignment for UNS / MQTT cloud data ingestion initiatives and enterprise data integration efforts.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
-
5+ years of leadership experience in an IT infrastructure environment

Experience leading teams in a manufacturing / industrial setting

Strong background across infrastructure and applications

Demonstrated project management experience with strong execution and follow-up

Experience supporting shop-floor team members, supervisors, and plant operations

ERP experience with understanding of:

ERP frameworks

Shipping & receiving system processes

Inventory and transactional flows

Strong business acumen, including spend management and operational impact

Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, group leads, and technical teams

Strong presence, charisma, and ability to learn quickly Plusses:

Experience with QAD ERP or similar ERP platforms

MES experience in complex manufacturing environments

Exposure to IT/OT architecture and industrial networking

Familiarity with UNS / MQTT cloud data ingestion or industrial data integration

Proven ability to turn around teams and drive cultural change
Benefits & conditions
$130k to $180k per year annual salary.
