Job description

The Software Engineer III plays a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and project management. This position involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions to enhance system performance. The role requires managing projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely delivery, and supporting continuous integration and deployment processes. The engineer will also provide technical guidance to small teams, contribute to coding and testing activities, and uphold high standards of quality, security, and maintainability throughout the software development lifecycle. About the Team:

Our team is primarily responsible for supporting and optimizing the supplier onboarding process at Walmart. We focus on simplifying and automating onboarding workflows, reducing manual effort, and improving system integrations to ensure suppliers are onboarded quickly, accurately, and at scale. Leveraging strong software engineering practices, agile delivery, and modern architecture, we enable a seamless experience for both suppliers and internal teams. Through close collaboration and continuous improvement, we deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that strengthen data quality, operational efficiency, and Walmart's overall supplier ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Write, test, and maintain code ensuring scalability, security, and performance standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and effective action plans.
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables for small to large complex software initiatives.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes by automating routine tasks and monitoring application performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and offshore associates.
  • Document technical solutions and maintain traceability between requirements and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in software development using Java, Spring Boot , React, NodeJS within Agile environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and deploy applications, leveraging Java, , React, NodeJS , Python, Spring Boot, and Azure technologies.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of software design principles and full stack development practices.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and GitHub.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver small to large complex projects on time.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable technical solutions.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) automation and telemetry implementation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, project management, and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle and project management methodologies., Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
