Job description

  • Work on data projects that involves profiling, mapping, and engineering pipelines.
  • Work on database migrations and build ETL/ELT solutions in Snowflake
  • Be a part of a fast-moving development team using Agile methodologies.
  • Utilize cloud environments, connectors, 3rd party partner software, and tools to develop solutions
  • Document known solutions to internal and external knowledge base
  • Support project activities and your team

Requirements

Our client is seeking a Snowflake Developer to join their team. As a Snowflake Software Developer, you will be part of the Software Development Department supporting data engineering and cloud integration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization., * Proficiency in SQL, data management practices, and cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT development, especially in Snowflake.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build queries from Snowflake data
  • Ability to create additional views in Snowflake, and create an excel connection to the Snowflake views
  • Development in Snowflake that requires queries to transform the data based on business rules that would then be pulled into Power-BI
  • ETL/ELT (extract, transform, load) development experience, preferably with Snowflake.
  • Experience working on Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure ecosystems
  • Experience writing, troubleshooting, and debugging advanced SQL queries
  • Deep understanding of SQL data types, functions and, database objects.
  • Experience developing and supporting large size Data Warehouses and Data Marts
  • Ability to understand basic SQL query profiles and execution plans
  • Experience troubleshooting data issues and database connectivity issues using a variety of methods (client - software, drivers/connectors)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Preferred skills and experiences:
  • Scripting/coding experience in any of the following: Python, Java, .Net, NodeJS, R
  • Experience supporting applications running on either Amazon AWS or MS Azure
  • Knowledge of CDC technologies such as Fivetran, Attunity or HVR.
  • Experience working with big data and/or MPP (massively parallel processing) databases.
  • Experience with virtualization solutions (docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud computing security concepts
