Job description
- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks for AFIMSC enterprise data.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force data management policies.
- Establish data quality standards and monitor adherence across systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship roles.
- Support metadata management and data cataloging initiatives.
- Implement processes for data lifecycle management and retention.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure data handling.
- Provide training and guidance on data governance best practices.
- Develop documentation for data governance policies and procedures.
- Assist in audits and reporting related to data compliance.
Requirements
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Governance, or related field.
- FIVE (5) or more years of experience in data management and governance.
- Ability to operate successfully on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the San Antonio metro area.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master's degree in Data Governance or related discipline.
- Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP).
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Experience with metadata management tools and data catalogs.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and compliance standards.
- Experience with data quality monitoring and improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to develop and enforce data policies and procedures.
- Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud environments.
- Experience supporting DoD or Air Force data governance projects.
- Knowledge of AI/ML data governance considerations.
- Familiarity with data catalog tools like Collibra or Alation.
- Experience with data lineage and impact analysis.
- Understanding of zero-trust security models.
- Experience with agile methodologies for governance implementation.
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements.
- Ability to lead data governance working groups.
