Job description
- Design and build ETL pipelines for AFIMSC data platforms.
- Integrate data sources into cloud-based environments (Advana, VAULT, BLADE).
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across systems.
- Support migration of civil engineering data platforms to cloud infrastructure.
- Develop automated workflows for data ingestion and transformation.
- Collaborate with data scientists to enable AI/ML model deployment.
- Optimize database performance and implement indexing strategies.
- Maintain secure data transfer protocols and compliance standards.
- Document data architecture and integration processes.
- Provide technical support for data-related issues and enhancements.
Requirements
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- FOUR (4) or more years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline tools (Databricks, Airflow).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master's degree in Data Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and governance principles.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with API integration and data connectors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data workflows.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Experience with advanced analytics platforms (Advana, VAULT).
- Familiarity with geospatial data integration.
- Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with robotic process automation tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for data systems.
- Knowledge of Air Force or DoD data environments.
- Experience in agile development methodologies.
