Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in either Westlake, TX, Smithfield, RI, Merrimack, NH or Durham, NC
Our client seeks a Cloud Database Architect to design and implement scalable, cloud-based data architectures for financial recordkeeping applications. The role will lead standards, patterns, and modernization across distributed, transactional data platforms and integrations. You will partner with engineering and architecture leaders to drive cloud adoption, mainframe migration, and secure data solutions that enable high-volume, low-latency processing. Your work will improve agility and support business growth across mission-critical brokerage services., * Define and promote data architecture strategies, patterns, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide technical leadership across complex projects and initiatives.
- Guide the adoption of cloud-native data solutions and integration patterns.
- Champion data-driven decision-making and reusable patterns, standards, and guidelines.
- Lead proofs of concept to evaluate emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
- Support mainframe migration and modernization efforts.
Requirements
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance., * Experience with high-scale data systems (50TB+, millions TPS, millisecond latency)
- Background in financial services or large-scale tech environments (e.g., Amazon, Meta)
- Mainframe expertise and migration to cloud data platforms (installations/deployments)
- Strong transactional database experience (Oracle required + one: In-Memory, NoSQL, or distributed SQL like CockroachDB)
- Data integration experience (Kafka, data movement across platforms like AWS S3 ? Oracle)
-OLTP data modeling (logical & physical)
Nice to have:
- Datawarehouse technologies in Snowflake, Iceberg
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Benefits & conditions
Rate: $77.00 to $85.00/hr. w2; 12+ month contract, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
