Youll write React and TypeScript that performs within those constraints.Youll own features from concept through certification. Youll work with central video engineering, external

platform partners, and Product/Design to deliver what millions of viewers see on the biggest screen in the

house.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain application components for Paramounts Smart TV apps using React andTypeScript
• Optimize application performance on resource-constrained CTV devices. Profile rendering, measurememory, fix whats slow
• Collaborate with central video engineering teams to integrate and optimize video players across platforms
• Work with external platform partners (Samsung, LG, and others) to develop, debug, and certifyapplications
• Manage application state with Redux and RTK. Keep the store clean and selectors fast as the app grows
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews. Hold your teammates to the same standard
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to turn requirements into working features
• Work across multiple agile teams and contribute to all phases of the development cycle
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and testing infrastructure for multi-platform Smart TV deployments
• Document components, platform-specific patterns, and technical decisions
• Use AI development tools to move faster and share what works with the team, * You open a Smart TV codebase youve never seen, connect a Tizen emulator, and start diagnosing arendering issue the same afternoon
• Other engineers read your code and understand it without a walkthrough
• You spot a memory leak on a 2020-era LG TV before QA files a ticket. You fix it and write up whathappened
• When a certification submission fails, you read the rejection, fix the issue, and flag what the team shouldcheck next time
• You own your features end to end. From scoping through deployment, you dont wait for someone to tellyou whats next
• You know which React patterns cause jank on low-end CTV hardware. You avoid them and explain why toteammates who ask
• You push back when a plan has gaps. You suggest a better approach
• You treat the build pipeline, test coverage, and error monitoring like product features
• You help your teammates get better. Through code reviews, pairing, or writing things down so the nextperson doesnt hit the same wall

• 5+ years writing software
• 2+ years building Smart TV or CTV applications on web-based platforms (Tizen, webOS, or similar)
• BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• React and TypeScript. You build components, not just consume them
• State management with Redux and RTK. You understand store shape, middleware, and when selectorscause unnecessary re-renders
• Client-side routing patterns (React Router or equivalent)
• Front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript. You can debug layout and rendering issues ona TV runtime
• Youve taken features from concept through delivery on CTV platforms, including certification
• CI/CD environments with DevOps and SRE principles
• RESTful API integration and data handling
• You communicate technical decisions in writing and in conversation. People act on what you say becauseits clear
• You use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to write and ship code faster, * Experience with multiple CTV platforms (Tizen, webOS, Vizio, Xbox, PlayStation, or others)
• Performance optimization on TV devices: profiling, memory measurement, rendering analysis. You knowhow to find the bottleneck, not just guess
• Browser internals knowledge: rendering pipelines, compositing, layout thrashing, and how these behaveon TV runtimes vs. desktop browsers
• Video player integration experience (Shaka, hls.js, or native platform players)
• Observability tools: Conviva, New Relic, Datadog, Sentry, or similar
• Experience working in Agile frameworks across distributed teams and time zones
• Rapid proof-of-concept experience. Youve built throwaway prototypes to answer hard questions fast
• Enthusiasm for sharing AI tools and workflows that save the team time
• You care about UX on the 10-foot screen and youll push back when something isnt right
• You say I dont know when you dont know

Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 170,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
