Job description

The Lead Software Engineer will collaborate with leadership and product teams to define the technical direction, design scalable systems, and deliver high-impact software solutions used by millions of members. This non-supervisory role focuses on writing code, shaping architecture, and setting engineering standards across the next-generation platform, contributing directly to the organization''s technical excellence and innovation in healthcare technology.

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Partner with product and leadership to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable systems

  • Design and deliver end-to-end solutions from concept through production and iteration

  • Write high-quality code for backend and frontend systems

  • Establish and enforce best practices for coding standards, testing, documentation, performance, and security

  • Provide technical guidance on design patterns, architecture, and code quality to raise team standards

  • Evaluate, debug, and modernize legacy platforms, rebuilding components as needed

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve results

  • Participate actively in agile processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Develop innovative healthcare solutions to improve systems, efficiency, and member value

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing, building, and launching production systems with strong backend and frontend skills

  • Proficiency in backend technologies: C# .NET, SQL (PostgreSQL or SQL Server), Python

  • Experience with frontend frameworks: React or Next.js

  • Ability to make sound architectural trade-offs balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability

  • Skilled at evolving legacy systems and building modern platforms

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or similar) and distributed systems

  • Ability to deliver results in fast-paced environments with changing requirements

  • Strong mentorship skills and commitment to technical excellence

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or agent-based workflows
