Job description

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Senior Configuration Manager to support the GEOINT Maintenance and Sustainment (M&S) project. In this onsite role, you will lead configuration management activities for complex IT systems, ensure information assurance requirements are met, and support continuity of operations for mission-critical GEOINT capabilities. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a Security+ certification., * Prepare, maintain, and document changes to Information Assurance (IA) security documentation to obtain and sustain Certificates to Operate (CTO) for GEOINT systems and related IT software and infrastructure.

  • Execute security and vulnerability scans against GEOINT systems and coordinate remediation activities with System Administrators.
  • Maintain and sustain the configuration management process for GEOINT systems, including configuration identification, internal configuration control, and coordination with Government configuration control boards and activities.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive database inventory of GEOINT software assets, including COTS, GOTS, scripts, databases, and other components that support the squadron mission.
  • Support and manage IT Continuity of Operations (COOP) for GEOINT systems, including creating and maintaining a master copy of all software that supports the GEOINT mission.
  • Document and maintain continuity documentation for technical maintenance and sustainment tasks and activities, including job processes, procedures, knowledge articles, and detailed how-to documentation.
  • Ensure configuration documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with NASIC enterprise standards and IA requirements.
  • Participate in and support configuration audits, reviews, and control activities to ensure compliance and traceability.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors from multiple companies, NGA personnel, and Government stakeholders across the Air Force ISR enterprise and the broader Intelligence Community.
  • Communicate configuration changes, impacts, and status updates clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Security+ certification compliant with DoD 8140.03 requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management within a Department of Defense or Intelligence Community environment.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end configuration processes, including documentation, audits, and configuration control activities.
  • Hands-on experience with IT systems in Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience working in VMware environments.
  • Strong understanding of Information Assurance (IA) principles, practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with configuration and document management practices and tools.
  • Ability to execute and interpret security and vulnerability scans on IT systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional and multi-organizational teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GEOINT systems, tools, and mission environments.
  • Experience with IT Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) for mission-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of NASIC Enterprise Architecture standards and how they apply to configuration and IA documentation.
  • Experience working with configuration management tools and repositories in a secure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and process adherence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment with evolving mission needs.
  • Interest in contributing to a smaller, agile organization with an employee-focused ownership structure (e.g., ESOP) and a close-knit culture.

This position is fully onsite in Dayton, OH - working within shared office spaces alongside other contractors and Government personnel. You will operate in a secure, mission-focused environment supporting Air Force ISR and the broader Intelligence Community. The role involves working with Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VMware-based systems, as well as configuration management and security scanning tools in a classified setting. Non-standard work hours may occasionally be required to support mission needs, system maintenance windows, or critical operational events.
