Job description
The SAP Ariba Sourcing & Contracts Management Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracts Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions. This role partners closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient sourcing and contracting processes across the organization.
The Lead will serve as the functional authority for Ariba Sourcing & Contracts, owning solution design, guiding configuration, and mentoring offshore/onshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Leadership
Lead end-to-end implementation and rollout of SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracts Management
Own functional solution design, best practices, and design governance
Translate business and legal requirements into scalable Ariba solutions
Serve as primary point of contact for Ariba Sourcing & Contracts workstreams
Ariba Sourcing
Design and optimize sourcing processes, including:
RFPs, RFQs, auctions (English, Dutch, Japanese, etc.)
Scoring, awarding, and supplier collaboration
Support complex sourcing scenarios and stakeholder workflows
Ensure sourcing processes align with compliance and audit requirements
Contracts Lifecycle Management
Lead design of Ariba Contracts:
Contract authoring and negotiation
Clause libraries, templates, fallback clauses
Approval workflows and version control
Partner with Legal to enable contract standardization and governance
Ensure contract repository accuracy and reporting readiness
Integration & Data
Support integration with SAP ECC or S/4HANA
Ensure data consistency across:
Vendors
Materials/services
Contract and sourcing master data
Collaborate with technical teams on interfaces, testing, and cutover
Leadership & Delivery
Lead functional workshops with business stakeholders
Mentor consultants and review configuration and deliverables
Support UAT, training, and post-go-live stabilization
Contribute to continuous improvement and roadmap planning
Requirements
8-12+ years total experience in Procurement or ERP solutions
6-10 years of hands-on SAP Ariba experience
4-7 years specifically in Ariba Sourcing and Contracts Management
2-4+ years in a Lead / Functional Lead / Solution Lead role
Experience leading end-to-end Ariba implementations
Strong understanding of procurement and contracting business processes
Required SAP / Ariba Skills
SAP Ariba:
Sourcing
Contracts Lifecycle Management (CLM)
Integration experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA
Familiarity with procurement compliance and approval workflows
Strong functional documentation and design skills
Nice to Have
SAP Ariba certification(s)
Experience with:
Ariba Guided Buying
Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP)
Ariba Central Procurement
S/4HANA transformation experience
Experience in regulated or complex procurement environments
Soft Skills
Strong stakeholder and executive communication skills
Ability to lead workshops and influence decision-making
Comfortable working in global, matrixed delivery teams
