(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems., We are seeking a Senior Mission Systems Analyst (Engineer III) to join our Agile Mission Systems (AMS) Engineering team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you'll support the development and application of simulation tools to explore and validate how advanced unmanned systems perform in complex missions involving military aircraft. You'll develop custom algorithms and extensions to enhance simulation capabilities and help transform system ideas into tested concepts that support real-world defense goals., * Support modeling and simulation efforts for military aircraft projects, analyzing mission effectiveness and system performance
- Build and run simulations using tools such as AFSIM and Command Professional Edition to model mission scenarios across air, land, sea, and space domains
- Develop and implement custom algorithms to extend and enhance simulation capabilities in AFSIM and Command PE
- Translate system requirements and operational concepts into reusable models and simulation logic
- Analyze performance of sensors, communications, weapons, and autonomous functions in realistic threat environments
- Design and code custom behaviors, plugins, and extensions to tailor simulation environments to specific mission needs
- Work with engineering teams to assess new capabilities, test ideas, and support decision-making
- Create and deliver reports, visualizations, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to research efforts and proposal development for internal and external customers
- May provide direction to design or technical staff and less experienced professional staff
- Coordinate segments of specific projects with occasional inter-organization and customer contact on technical issues

Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Strong proficiency with AFSIM (experience with comparable simulation environments such as NGTS, STORM, or similar may be considered in lieu of AFSIM experience)
- Advanced programming skills in MATLAB
- Strong programming skills in one or more additional languages such as C++, JavaScript, Python, or similar
- Experience developing custom algorithms and extensions for simulation environments
- Understanding of military CONOPS and multi-domain operations
- Ability to understand and apply new concepts quickly in an evolving environment
- Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (TS Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of military aircraft operations and design
- Experience with:
- Command Professional Edition
- Lua scripting
- Modeling ISR, autonomy, electronic warfare, or contested operations
- Familiarity with additional tools (e.g., STK, modeFRONTIER)
- Knowledge of campaign-level analysis or wargaming
- Background in software development best practices including version control (Git), testing, and documentation
