Senior SAP ERP Risk & Automation Consultant (targeting candidates in Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Columbus, Boston, Charlotte, Tampa or Atlanta)
We are looking for one to join a consulting practice supporting complex SAP risk, controls, and automation initiatives. This role focuses on designing, testing, and optimizing SAP automated application controls across ERP implementations and transformations where you will serve as a subject-matter expert for SAP controls, working closely with clients, auditors, and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, test, and assess SAP automated application controls
Identify SAP functional configuration options to automate controls and reduce manual risk
Lead SAP application control testing, including validating test scripts and reviewing results
Act as SAP application controls SME for financial, SOX, and regulatory audits
Assess application control design on new SAP implementations and identify automation opportunities
Support SAP transformation initiatives including process modeling, governance, testing, and data migration
Conduct research on SAP configuration and propose practical, risk-focused solutions
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders
Support SAP Segregation of Duties and sensitive access assessments
Lead and mentor team members while managing multiple client engagements
Scope, plan, and manage engagements including budgets, timelines, and delivery quality
Requirements
5+ years of experience working with SAP in risk, controls, audit, or implementation roles
Strong understanding of SAP business processes, application controls, and ERP risk
Hands-on experience with ERP implementations; functional SAP experience is a plus
Familiarity with SOX, ICFR, data privacy, and other audit or regulatory frameworks
Experience acting as a client-facing SME and engaging senior stakeholders
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in fast-paced environments
Proven experience managing projects, teams, and engagement financials
Prior consulting experience
IT General Controls experience
Exposure to SAP security and GRC concepts
