Technical Scrum Master

As a Technical Scrum Master, you will facilitate Agile delivery within cloud and engineering teams, ensuring high-quality, secure, and predictable delivery of Application and DevOps initiatives.

Working closely with the Technical Delivery Manager, Product Owners, architects, Application Developers, DevOps, and Test engineers, you will combine strong Scrum facilitation with technical expertise to:

• Understand engineering challenges
• Remove complex impediments
• Optimise delivery flow

Unlike a traditional Scrum Master role, you will actively engage in technical discussions, understand architectural dependencies, and drive engineering excellence across Application and DevOps teams., * Support predictable delivery of Application Development, automation, and CI/CD initiatives

• Remove complex technical impediments impacting engineering teams
• Collaborate with the Technical Delivery Manager on sprint risks and cross-team dependencies
• Improve flow across CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Promote best practices including Secure Delivery, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and DevSecOps
• Monitor delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, deployment frequency, lead time, and defect rates
• Manage dependencies within and across teams
• Support backlog refinement with technical and architectural understanding
• Ensure operational readiness (documentation, monitoring, support models)
• Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
• Escalate delivery risks with clear impact analysis
• Support incident reviews and promote shift-left quality practices

• 10+ years of IT engineering experience, preferably in microservices-based application development
• 5+ years as a Scrum Master in cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering environments
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Bitbucket)
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS)
• Experience in regulated or government delivery environments
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence
• Strong understanding of DevOps and application metrics (DORA metrics, MTTR, deployment frequency)
• Experience managing technical dependencies and risks in complex environments
• Exposure to incident, change, and problem management
• Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills, * Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
• SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Agilist
• ITIL v4 Foundation
• Experience working in SC-cleared environments
• Relevant IT certifications
