Job description

In this contingent resource assignment, the consultant will support complex, large-scale Software Engineering initiatives within a financial services environment. The role involves evaluating multi-faceted engineering challenges, contributing to strategic planning, and ensuring solutions align with organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. The consultant will collaborate closely with client personnel to deliver high-quality, scalable database solutions. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and functions
  • Optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability across very large datasets
  • Analyze execution plans and implement tuning strategies to resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Ensure robust error handling, transaction control, and data integrity in production systems
  • Review and analyze complex engineering challenges requiring evaluation of multiple factors
  • Contribute to the resolution of multi-layered technical issues with broad organizational impact
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client teams on engineering initiatives
  • Work with application and data teams to deliver efficient, scalable database solutions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent via work, consulting, military, or education)
  • Advanced Oracle PL/SQL development expertise
  • Proven ability to optimize SQL/PLSQL for large-scale, high-volume systems
  • Strong performance tuning skills, including execution plan analysis
  • Experience working with datasets in the hundreds of millions of recordsPlusses
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional application and data engineering teams
  • Background in enterprise-scale financial systems
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, transaction control, and error handling in production environmentsJob Summary
