Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Bellevue, WA. Candidates must have strong expertise in Windows and Linux security engineering to define and enforce OS security baselines across Azure and hybrid environments. Rate Range: $45/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Security Engineer job responsibilities include: Oversees the definition, enforcement, and governance of Windows and Linux OS security baselines across Azure and hybrid environments. Implements security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation for both Windows and Linux platforms. Drives automation using PowerShell, Bash, and Python to enhance compliance, monitoring, and security operations. Conducts OS security audits, event log analysis, and supports incident response and root-cause investigations. Manages configuration management and continuous compliance through tools such as Ansible, SCCM, Intune, and related platforms. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related technical field. 6-8 years of hands-on experience in Windows and Linux security engineering. Strong proficiency in OS security hardening, baseline management, and compliance across Azure and hybrid environments. Proven ability to lead engineering teams and provide technical guidance in security operations and automation.
