Job description
Design and deliver cloud and AI-enabled solutions across Azure, Oracle Cloud and (as introduced) AWS.
Develop automation, integration services and AI-focused components to meet business requirements.
Build and support REST APIs and identity-aware service patterns, including secure authentication flows.
Provide operational (BAU) support and contribute to project delivery for cloud and AI workloads.
Partner with teams to improve reliability, security, compliance and cost management of the platform.
Drive modern engineering practices including IaC, CI/CD and reusable automation frameworks.
Implement governance guardrails to support responsible and policy-compliant AI usage.
Produce architecture artefacts and engineering documentation to enable consistent, repeatable delivery.
Requirements
This hands-on engineering role combines cloud platform delivery with software development to enable AI workloads at scale. You will design, build and support cloud and AI-ready patterns across Azure (primary) and Oracle Cloud, with AWS introduced as the platform footprint expands. The role requires strong engineering discipline, comfort working independently through ambiguity, and close collaboration with application and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, compliant and repeatable solutions.
Key Essential Skills:
Strong Azure engineering background, including Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/ARM and ideally Terraform) and cloud platform operations.
High proficiency in Python and PowerShell to build automation, integrations and AI-related workflows.
Experience delivering and supporting enterprise cloud and identity capabilities across Azure and Oracle Cloud (including Entra ID).
Hands-on REST API development and integration, including secure authentication/authorisation patterns (eg, OAuth2, token-based flows).
Applied experience with Azure OpenAI and the OpenAI SDK/models (GPT, embeddings), including integration into real business use cases.
Strong grounding in security, IAM, governance and compliance expectations in regulated environments.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with API gateways (eg, Azure API Management) and enterprise integration patterns.
Exposure to responsible AI controls, model governance and lifecycle management in regulated settings.
Knowledge of vectorisation/embedding patterns and orchestration frameworks (eg, Foundry or similar).
