Join our team as a software engineer to build the Dextro Software platform. Dextro - Lam Research. You will be at the forefront of defining and developing the infrastructure that will make Dextro successful. In this role, you will develop designs, infrastructure, and technology platforms alongside a team of software engineers. You will also collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and mechatronics teams to design, test, and troubleshoot special-application end effectors on a 6-axis robot. Hands-on development and prototyping are essential for success.
You'll make an impact across Lam's product portfolio by working within our centralized software engineering team and collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. What you'll do
- Maintain and enhance the existing codebase by investigating and resolving issues.
- Demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software.
- Extend the Dextro Platform (ROS 2).
- Build out support for 6-axis cobots.
- Create and update HMI systems.
- Design a learning pipeline for computer vision algorithms.
- Integrate sensors and actuators into robotic systems; analyze and optimize system performance and accuracy.
- Apply engineering theories and methods to solve technical problems.
- Work within a cross-functional team and support design, analysis, and performance evaluation from concept through completion.
- May visit customer sites to provide support; travel is expected to be less than 10%.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics plus 3+ years of experience; or a Master's degree (or higher) with no prior professional experience; or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented software concepts (OOS), object-oriented design (OOD), and/or object-oriented programming (OOP), including design patterns and finite state machines.
- Software development skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C++, C#).
Preferred qualifications
- Prior semiconductor equipment experience.
- Experience with multi-arm and/or multi-axis robotic programming
- Experience with Python and/or C++.
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware and Behavior Trees
- Familiarity with Git and SVN, and with CI/CD pipelines
- Proficient in Linux
Benefits & conditions
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $99,000.00 -$220,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
