- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to secure customer validation of technical solutions, supporting the account team in pre-sales engagements.
- Deliver tailored technical presentations , including deep-dive demos, workshops, and POCs, leveraging traditional and emerging tools where applicable.
- Develop technical strategies for complex opportunities, including RFx e.g. Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses and architecture designs.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to align solution designs with product roadmaps and industry advancements.
- Partner with customer success and ecosystem partners to ensure smooth post-sale adoption and expansion.
- Create reusable technical assets (e.g., architecture templates, battle cards) to scale best practices.
- Represent the company in technical forums , sharing insights on product capabilities and real-world use cases.
- Guide customers from initial automation adoption to more advanced, mission-critical use cases such as self-healing infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Security, Network, Edge, and Hybrid Cloud Automation.
- Achieve revenue and deployment objectives while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Actively participate in Red Hat's internal communities of practice, leading knowledge-sharing initiatives on the automation portfolio.
- Continuously learn and explore new technologies to address enterprise challenges effectively.
Requirements
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Specialist Solution Architect. The Specialist Solution Architect will support the Department of Defense (DoD) by leveraging expertise in IT infrastructure automation. This role focuses on pre-sales efforts in the government sector, particularly with the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. The architect will create compelling solutions for customers, and function as a technical advisor helping agencies improve efficiency, reduce human errors and improve security via automated solutions. Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to develop enterprise-level business solutions are essential for success in this position.
TS clearance or higher is preferred, but not required
The Specialist Solution Architect is responsible for working independently and leading the resolution of varied and non-routine complex technical challenges, exercising independent judgment and creative solutioning, to secure customer validation and adoption of technical solutions. This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for specific product line(s), providing deep technical expertise in pre-sales engagements, including custom demos, workshops, and Proof of Concepts (POCs). The position collaborates closely with account teams, product engineering, customer success, and partner ecosystems to align solutions with business outcomes.
Knowledge and experience with the US Navy is a plus for this position. You'll cover US Navy and Marine Corps customers exclusively., * 4+ years of architecture experience focused on automation technologies, operating systems, enterprise virtualization, cloud, networking, or datacenter infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Red Hat certifications.
- Experience in a consulting environment, providing strategic advisory services to senior IT and business executives.
- Deep technical expertise in cloud solutions and architecture.
- Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solutions sales mindset in a multi-offering environment.
- Proven success working with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve customer goals.
- Experience in front-line sales or quota-carrying roles is a plus.
- Direct experience with Ansible or similar automation tools like Puppet, Chef, and SaltStack.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
