Job description

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a highly skilled, security-focused Senior IT Engineer to lead the architecture, implementation, and ownership of our CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800-171) network. This individual will be the technical lead for standing up a secure corporate and defense environment, ensuring all systems meet stringent DoD regulatory requirements, including CUI, ITAR, and FOCI mitigation., * Lead the implementation, enhancement, and sustainment of a CMMC Level 2 compliant network infrastructure.

  • Provide hardware and software support for end users across workstations, servers, and mobile platforms.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premises hardware including routers, switches, servers, and workstations.
  • Establish and enforce governance processes, change control procedures, and data standards.
  • Manage user accounts in on-premises Active Directory and cloud-based providers.
  • Ensure enterprise systems adhere to CUI, ITAR, export control, and FOCI-mitigated access restrictions.
  • Create and maintain meticulous systems documentation for repeatability and audit compliance.
  • Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues across hardware and software layers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, * 7+ years of experience in systems implementation or enterprise systems leadership

  • 5+ years of experience with Windows desktop support
  • 5+ years of experience with hardware maintenance tasks such as racking servers, switches, deploying workstations, setting up printers, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as the OSI model, TCP/IP stack, communication protocols, firewalls, routing, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CUI, ITAR, and FOCI-mitigated organizational requirements
  • Experience supporting DoD or aerospace/defense programs, including exposure to FAR/DFARS and NIST 800-171
  • Experience with virtualization products such as Hyper-V or VMWare.
  • Experience with cloud Infrastructure as a Service such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki network infrastructure.
  • Experience with macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience with Dell iDRAC.
