These positions reside in the Huntsville Research Center and support research and development activities for the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation among other sponsors. Qualified applicants will provide lifecycle support for the acquisition of systems including system specification, test engineering, requirements management, data modeling, and other systems engineering and specialty engineering tasks. Job Purpose
The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) develops and executes novel system model-based approaches to define, design, analyze, and document system development. The MBSE Researcher applies MBSE tool suites to enable the use of model-based best practices in DoD acquisition and system life cycle support. This position supports stakeholders and sponsors in the application of MBSE to trade space analysis, design, acquisition, and sustainment. The MBSE executes System Engineering and MBSE processes including system definition, functional decomposition, requirements development, architectural development and analysis, design synthesis, system analysis, data modeling and architecture development, test program development, and sustainment activities. The MBSE researcher also presents technical and program management presentations to government sponsors. Key Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the authoring of UAF models capturing stakeholder needs and resulting enterprise architectures, SysML models capturing system requirements and design, and data models capturing system data requirements and design.
- Direct sponsor engagement and facilitate product or system requirements gathering and analysis.
- Verify systems engineering product life cycle including definition, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation.
- Manage all technical aspects of product or system design including directing multiple tasks across the organization to meet sponsor needs.
- Manage sub-contractor resources supporting all system engineering areas (definition, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation).
- Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for systems of high complexity.
- Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes in a SysML model.
- Guide the development and strategy of reusable modeling expressions and tool chains.
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct systems engineering activities in support of the development of software intensive aviation components and applications.
- Support the analysis and refinement of system specification to achieve acquisition objectives.
