Job description
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Python Developer in Sarasota, FL. You will join an internal development team and own Python-based work at the intersection of data and analytics. Typical work includes:
- Build and extend Python services that ingest, normalize, and score bank-transaction and document data from third-party providers (e.g., OCR and bank-verification vendors)
- Write analytics pipelines against MySQL and Salesforce data - monthly funding breakdowns, vintage performance, charge-off analysis, portfolio segmentation, underwriting comps
- Partner with underwriting and finance to translate business logic into code: cash-flow classifiers, risk flags, pricing segmentation, and pre-approval rule sets
- Maintain and improve production services on AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS/MySQL, S3, Lambda)
- Contribute to our internal AI tooling - model-backed document parsers, Claude-powered analysis workflows, and MCP servers that connect LLMs to Salesforce and our data warehouse
- Participate in code review, light on-call for the services you own, and continuous improvement of our deployment and observability story
Requirements
- 1-4 years of professional experience writing production Python
- Strong SQL - you can write, read, and tune a non-trivial query against MySQL or a similar RDBMS
- Comfort with pandas and data-wrangling work against messy, semi-structured inputs (JSON, CSV, XML, PDFs)
- Exposure to financial or analytics domains - ideally loan performance, banking, payments, credit risk, fintech, accounting automation, insurance, or trading; Internships and analyst work count
- Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and at least one cloud provider (AWS strongly preferred)
- Clear written communication; You can explain a data finding to a non-engineer
Nice to have:
- Any finance coursework, CFA/FRM progress, or a quantitative degree
- Flask or FastAPI in production
- Experience with Salesforce data (SOQL, reports, or API-based integration)
- Prior work with OCR/document-AI pipelines or bank-transaction categorization
- Exposure to modeling frameworks (scikit-learn, H2O, statsmodels) or BI tools (Looker, Tableau)
- Hands-on with LLM tooling - Anthropic/OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or MCP
